I find vulnerabilities before attackers do. Specialising in SOC operations, penetration testing, threat intelligence, and GRC — protecting systems through offensive thinking and structured governance.
A cybersecurity analyst who thinks like an attacker to build stronger defences — with a path toward SOC and GRC leadership.
I'm Raphael Goodness Ngene, a cybersecurity analyst based in Lagos, Nigeria. I completed the TechCrush Cybersecurity Bootcamp (Cohort 6) as Team Lead, and I've since built hands-on expertise across penetration testing, network security, SOC operations, and threat intelligence.
My career path is intentional: SOC Analyst → Incident Responder → Threat Intelligence → GRC Analyst. Every project I take on builds toward that goal — from monitoring logs and analysing threats, to documenting policies and frameworks that protect organisations at scale.
I'm actively working toward CompTIA Security+ with a long-term specialisation in GRC (Governance, Risk & Compliance) targeting the Lagos enterprise market.
My work sits across four core disciplines in cybersecurity.
Log monitoring, alert triage, incident detection and response. I work within the SOC workflow to identify threats before they escalate.
Controlled offensive engagements — phishing simulations, vulnerability exploitation, and post-engagement reporting with clear mitigations.
Email forensics, IOC extraction, IP analysis, and OSINT. I track threat actors and surface actionable intelligence from raw data.
Governance, Risk & Compliance — building security frameworks, SOPs, and risk documentation that align organisations with industry standards.
